the artist

Anthony Raffalovich’s oils and serigraphs have graced numerous exhibitions from Chicago to Miami, Palm Beach to Atlanta. His pieces are in corporate collections including Atlanta’s Inforum, John Wieland Designs, The Landmark Group and Equifax as well as The Berkshire Hilton in New York. His art has been used in television shows and commercials and featured in a number of charity art auctions. Now he expands his horizon to include ceramics and wood, turning his talent to this new, expressive medium.

After beginning his work with ceramics in 2015, he developed an interest in woodworking, bought a lathe and began turning wooden bowls, which are an integral part of the figures he has assembled here. Using clay, wood or a combination of the two, Anthony Raffalovich has created about 350 figures. In exploring the new medium of ceramics and wood, he is exposing a new world of expression and wonder. Startled eyes peer out from colorful, rich shapes. Smiles and consternation, delight and dismay, his figures reflect a wry, occasionally serious and often whimsical encounter with life. "“Through color, texture, form, materials and expressions these beings discover the mystery of nature and gather the elements they find along the path to personal fulfillment.”
